Summer Fun reading

The boys and I trecked to the library this morning and joined the summer reading program, and then I found this..

I'm takin' the plunge and doing my own summer book giveaway...Jessie posted that she discovered this fun time giveaway going on and then I checked it out...I don't usually do stuff like this, but I thought, 'why not?'

..So, here are the rules:

1. Choose a gently loved book from your collection which you really liked. I know...it's hard to part with them, because they become like children. :) But, the idea is that you've read it and have a little review/summary about your book and why you want to give it away.

2. Decide whether you will open your giveaway to US readers only or to those in Canada and beyond...It wouldn't be fair to be excited for a giveaway and then find out that the sender can't afford postage. Better to be up front.

3. Post a picture of your book(s) and when you will be drawing your winner. Suggested end date: Monday, June 30. No later than noon Pacific Time.

(I'm open to Canada and beyond!)

4. Have fun with this.

Since I've gotten rid of soooo many books, the ones I do have are really special to me and have ministered deeply to me. This particular book has meant so much and been such an encouragement to me that whoever wins, you're in for a treat.
Title chapters include:
A Victorian Home
A Goodly Heritage
Frugality, Hospitality and Heroes
He Lived What He Taught Us
A Habit Of Order
A Father's Tenderness
A Mother is a Choice...and the titles go on...such a drink of water in this dry and 'where is mommy?' land...
Just drop a note (comment) saying you'd like to be entered and perhaps, leave a note about yourself~!

(Drum roll, please!...)
Well, I think two books are more fun...especially if you have little ones you're nurturing~
(but if you can't use it, let me know!~)
It's Elisabeth Elliot's,
...and
The boys loved this book, too.

Thanks, Gretchen, for the idea!!!

I have to say, this is kinda fun!

Hi Daune,

Thanks so much for my birthday greeting. I'm having a great day so far. Graham has taken the day off and we are going out for lunch. The weather is glorious. What more could a 46 year old woman want on her birthday?!

Thanks for the competition link which sounds very interesting and exciting-I will definitely have a look at it.

Love the music on your blog by the way- I chose the Pachabel Canon to listen to when I was giving birth to my first child!!

Daune,

I was just thinking about writing you a letter and then I got your note! I am so glad I got to see you all while it was home. It was refreshing to be back with family. I think that's the hardest thing about moving around all the time - my heart is in so many places and it hurts to leave behind.

Thank you for listening to me about all my stuff and reminding me about what is real and true. I know I can always count on you guys for that.

About Jason, we talked and there is too much that is unanswered about that relationship for it to be something good. I would need so many things about him to change and its not my job to change him. So, just be praying because it's not easy to walk away from something I thought I wanted for such a long time.

My computer mic is broken at the moment but when i get a new one I will call and talk. Until then, I have a new blog: inkingmyworld.blogspot.com
i haven't written anything yet but it's pretty!

Hi to Isaac, Caleb, Jef as well! I love you all :)

Miss you horribly...
Yesterday at the women's Bible study, I shared that I was hungering for friendship...I'm gonna post about it, but was wondering if you'd mind giving your perspective, having the Word as your backdrop, of what friendship means to you...thanks, dear.
