~God Sees EVERYTHING~

I'm convinced that Daddy is so concerned with our hearts and truth that sometimes things set themselves up and then He watches to see what we'll do...
Just such an event occurred tonite. I wanted to head to the thrift store for my usual $.99 sale on Mondays for a certain color marked down ticket of their choosing...well, I didn't get there until 8:30 and they close at 9 p.m. I saw a desk and earlier in the day, Love and I spoke of getting the boys another one for school...this desk in particular needed work, which isn't an issue for my carpenter hubby, but I found the chair that went with it at the back of the store and it was more than the desk and I had a figure that Love and I agreed on...(I had called and shared my find) and I said that if the lady would give us the desk at that price, then I'd get it...well, she was almost $5 more than our figure, so I passed it up...
As I was driving away, I noticed what I figured was 'trash', piled up next to the thrift store and a couple pilfering the stuff...I asked if it was trash and the man didn't speak English...(There are a lot of Spanish speaking people here that DO NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH! Boggles my brain, actually~) He kept repeating 'garbage' so I helped myself to some large pictures that our son could paint over...and a little table for him to paint, as well...
After I got home and we did the dishes from dinner, I felt this pang in my heart that the stuff wasn't garbage but donations....left after closing. So, I tried to rationalize for a second, even prayed about it. The Holy Spirit was so gentle. "Why would you pray about this?" Am I not already showing you by the conviction in your conscience that those things don't belong to anyone but to whom they were given?"
SO, I told Love that I had a conviction to return the stuff and he said, "GO back then." I'd left the frames in the van, so the boys just carried the little table and off we went, me explaining to them my conviction and them listening intently...when we arrived, there were people taking stuff out of their truck...I said it would look like we were donating things (what was I telling them?)...but the funny thing is that when I pulled out the picture, the lady said, "We just dropped off a picture just like that!"Here's my opportunity to tell them that I'd taken it and felt it was stealing because they'd donated it...she told me, "No, you can have it!" I said, "Are you giving it to me?" She said, "Yes"...well....
Now that's a different story...God honored my obedience at just the precise moment that they'd come back to drop off more stuff and they not only blessed us with the pictures, but with two desks and two small end tables for our son to paint!!!
And what was I looking for? A desk...now we had two...they both need serious cleaning and some repair (Love can handle anything), but it's one of those finds that only God could have arranged...and they even drove the second desk to our home in their truck~!
...and earlier in the day, Love asked if I had any sticky note pads and I said no...well, in one of the drawers, there was a sticky pad!

Am I learning? Yes. Am I grateful? Absolutely. Is HE not faithful?

He is watching to see if we are sensitive to our spirits. He is honored when we honor Him. And He doesn't let anything stay hidden in our hearts, either!

I love my Daddy.

Wow. That was a great story, and a great lesson in obedience. How often do we miss such lessons by not listening to Him?

Lord, I pray my ears are opened to hear your Spirit this day!

God is awesome!

Sometimes, I think He must shake His head at my fumbling through life and thinking that I am in control.
